The How To Pick A College Major © system is specifically designed to help high school and college students sort through their options and select a major with confidence. Students are led through a no-nonsense approach to identify which college major best matches their interests, natural talents and values. It’s an easy to follow, step-by-step method that takes the guesswork out of picking a major.
Most students choose to be directed through the How To Pick A College Major © system while participating in the college counseling services offered at the Get A Direction College and Career Counseling Center. (Click here to read about our counseling services) Long distance counseling appointments through Skype now available. However, if a student wants to work through the How to Pick A College Major © system without the help of a college and career counselor, the system is designed to guide students through all 5 steps of a process that will teach them how to get the kind of information they need to pick a college major.
The How to Pick A College Major © system includes a student workbook and 5 instructional CDs. The workbook and CDs guide students through activities, exercises and aptitude testing. Each step of the way, students learn the secrets to finding and evaluating the kind of information they need to develop a solid college and career plan. During Step 2 of the How to Pick A College Major © system, students complete the Get A Direction Natural Talent Questionnaire™ to help them discover their natural talents and abilities. The Questionnaire is a self-scoring assessment tool that provides students with immediate answers and eye-opening insights into their innate but (often hidden) strengths. Once students uncover and begin to appreciate the potential of their true strengths, they are equipped to identify which college majors are the best fit for their unique set of natural talents.
The How Pick A College Major © system was developed to help those students who are confused about their future direction. It is for high school students heading to college with no idea about which major they want to pursue. It is for students who have already started college but still can’t figure out what they want to do. It is for those students who are about to give up on getting a degree because they feel overwhelmed and confused by their lack of direction.
Don’t waste any more money bouncing from one major to the next. Don’t waste any more time worrying about what your future holds – get a direction that’s right for you.
